Old Forde House

TQ12   |    Flood damage

The remarkable 500-year-old Grade I listed property was unfortunately flooded in early 2024. BluePrint provides historic building and architectural services to repair and restore it to its former glory.

As certified members of the Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance, we are also taking the opportunity to prescribe retrofit improvements that are sensitive and appropriate to the listed building, using the STBA’s ‘whole house approach’ assessment method (funded and supported by Historic England).
The former manor house in Newton Abbot, Devon, dating back to around 1550, is a well-preserved example of Elizabethan architecture. The house has played host to notable historical figures, including King Charles I, William of Orange, Oliver Cromwell and Queen Elizabeth II. Today, it serves as a venue for weddings and events, reflecting its enduring legacy and architectural importance.
