Drake's Place Reservoir

PL4   |   A sustainable source of hot water

The installation of a water source heat pump in the Grade II listed Drake’s Reservoir provides a sustainable source of hot water heating to the adjacent Nancy Astor Building for the University of Plymouth.

The estimated CO2 savings compared to a like-for-like hot water consumption are in the order of 80%.

BluePrint provided the historic building consultancy and architectural support for the University of Plymouth and secured listed building consent for the project. The design was optimised so the impact on the listed structure is minimal and reversible.
